A recent GM Press Release announced that the manufacturer wants to further contribute to customer safety, customer satisfaction, and strong results for dealers and independent collision repair services. Its customers are at the heart of the decision as they can now count on a more efficient network to ensure the complete integrity of cars and car repairs. Here are some highlights of the program.
More than 6 million accidents annually
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states that more than six million police-reported car crashes occur every year, and as vehicle technology evolves, it’s more important than ever to complete proper repairs and comply with road safety standards.
But after a collision, GM's collision repair network, along with OnStar, helps educate and empower GM vehicle owners by helping them find suitable repair facilities.
Continuing Education Program
For dealers and independent body repair companies, the new collision repair network will build on GM's current training and tools-focused programs, while adding standards for scanning, repair procedures, calibration and overall repair.
Savings for consumers
Consumers will benefit from faster repairs and lower repair costs, and even save on costly claims. Network repair facilities should benefit from a more streamlined collision repair process, including reduced time spent on diagnosing car problems and on repair procedures.
GM is also interested in independent repairers
Dealers and independent collision repair facilities interested in the GM Collision Repair Network can email GMCollisionRepairNetwork@GM.com. Another good reason to trust GM and its vehicles!
