From the outset, the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 has been the perfect off-roader: As specialists have said, it’s a surprising combination of strong off-road capabilities and comfort for Sunday sojourns.
For those who love slush, water and dirt, the 2018 ZR2 is a match − so much so that it accounted for nearly 10% of all 2017 Colorado sales.
The comparison dance
Compared to the Colorado Z71 off-road, the ZR2 is 2 inches wider and is equipped with a set of 31-inch tires instead of 30 for the Z71. Apart from the tires, the ZR2 is now equipped with a new front suspension with longer springs and longer dampers. In addition, the front track has been increased and the active rear axle has been widened.
Even the truck chassis has been modified to handle the newly updated suspension. Looking at the ZR2 from the front, you’ll quickly notice one of the two aluminum skid plates; the first runs from the radiator to the rear oil pan and the second covers the two-speed electronic transfer case. In short, it’s designed to hit hard!
Nothing like it
For the sake of comparison, we’d say that the ZR2 is a pick-up combo that thinks it’s an off-road. Currently, there aren’t really any other brands that truly compete in this market segment.
Finally, the heated seats, covered in black leather, are comfortable. Also note that the leather is always easy to clean - because your car will be covered in mud ... Contact our team for a test drive, at 1 844 800-9212!
