The 22-year-old Emy Legault is an exceptional triathlete from Ile-Perrot. She is currently training to compete at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
The young woman was recently in Hungary, where she took part in an international competition.
The Chevrolet Buick GMC Ile-Perrot ambassador still had a few minutes of free time to send us news :
"Last weekend, I was at the Tiszaujvaros World Cup in Hungary. The race takes place over 2 days; the semi-final on Saturday and the final on Sunday. Both days are in sprint format.
Saturday morning, the weather was not nice, with heavy thunderstorms. The race organization had to put in place an emergency plan. The semi-final was therefore reviewed at 500 meters of swimming, 12 km of bike and 3.2 km of race, instead of the typical sprint.
The start is finally given an hour early to try to get all the semi-finals before the storm. We had preceded the storm, but not the rain! I get out of the water towards the end of the first group, which puts a lot of pressure on the execution of my transition to be able to be in the leading group. My transition is flawless, and I'm 10th on my bike, and just before the gap on the second squad. The rain has made the road slippery, I know that I must remain attentive and alert on the bike portion to stay upright. Unfortunately, knowing the danger is not always avoiding it, and that's how I find myself lying on the ground in the first roundabout. I get up very quickly, and I convince myself that I can always make the final with a good run. I find myself in the second squad and finish the bike 1 minute behind. I really gave everything to running in the hope that it will be just enough for a place in the final, but unfortunately, I miss the final by seconds.
Big disappointment, but it's part of the game. I am really happy with my physical health at the moment which announces good results to come! "
All members of the Chevrolet Buick GMC Ile-Perrot team join forces to wish Emy Legault good luck!
