2017 GMC Acadia: rugged and spacious mid-size SUV
GMC engineers wanted to make sure the new Acadia would be easier to drive in the city, and easier to park in tight environments.

Introduced on the market for the first time in 2009, the Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave quickly established themselves on the market as comfortable, safe, capable and, above all, very spacious vehicles.

Indeed, it is difficult to find a better vehicle on the market at the moment if we are looking for an SUV that sits six, seven or eight passengers.

Last year, the GMC Acadia was completely redesigned to offer even more to its owners.

2017 GMC Acadia: a smaller, more spacious SUV

The GMC Acadia’s new generation is smaller than the model it replaces, no doubt about it. GMC engineers wanted to make sure the new Acadia would be easier to drive in the city, and easier to park in tight environments. It is, therefore, shorter and narrower, but it still retains its sturdy and muscular style that made it a success.

Despite its compact size, the 2017 GMC Acadia is still very spacious. Offering three rows of seats with a reclining and folding middle-row seats for easy access to the third row, the new Acadia is the perfect SUV if you want space for the whole family as well as enough room for everybody’s luggage.

In addition, the GMC Acadia offers exclusive features such as the device that warns you through a beep to check the rear seats when you leave the vehicle to make sure you do not forget anyone inside. You also get exciting features like Wi-Fi 4G LTE built into the vehicle that allows you to access the internet from anywhere.

Two powerful engines for the 2017 GMC Acadia

The 2017 GMC Acadia is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 194 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque. This engine has the distinction of being very fuel-efficient with an average consumption of only 9.2 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway.

If you want a bit more power, opt for the 3.6-liter V6 engine that offers 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. This engine does not require much more fuel than the four-cylinder engine, but it offers a lot more power and greater towing capability.
